Karina Saldivar 

Karina Moreno Saldivar is an Assistant Professor at the School of Business, Public Administration, and Information Sciences at Long Island University Brooklyn.  She received her Ph.D. from Rutgers University, the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) in Newark, New Jersey in 2012 after completing her dissertation titled, “The Impact of Arizona’s Senate Bill 1070 on Latino Political Attitudes and Participation.”  Dr. Saldivar has a BA and MPA from Texas A&M International University.  Her research interests include Latino political attitudes on government efficacy and patterns of political participation within the U.S., policy analyses of immigration and/or security policies disproportionately allocated on Latinos and the subsequent impact (if any) on Latino mobilization in the U.S., Latinos’ perceptions of discrimination within the context of immigration, and research methodology in the social sciences.
